LivinBluesXperience, still alive after all these years!

From 1967 thrugh 1975 the group known as “Livin’ Blues” with their blues-boogie-rock and shuffle style really was top of the bill! They had hits (like Wang Dang Doodle, LB Boogie, Spooonful) and had fans all over Europe and they played with pop giants like, Steve Lukather (Toto), Peter Green (Fleetwood Mac), Desmond Dekker, Canned Heat, Jan Akkerman and Thijs van Leer (Focus) and many others.

After that hype period that lasted till 1980, the original band members started their own projects but each time they returned on the old nest to continue their Livin’ Blues life.

Since a couple of years, Nicko Christiansen formed a new Livin’ Blues band, now under the name Livin’ Blues Xperience and returned on the major jazz and blues festivals in Europe like the Parkpop festival in the Hague Holland with over 150 thousand visitors or in October 2006 with their performance in the majestic Svetlanov theatre in Moscow Russia with over 2000 seats.  Last year the band toured through Poland and had performances on some festivals and blues clubs and also this year they had a one week tour through Poland and have been  programmed on the Torreperogil Festival in Andalusia Spain where they perform with Chicken Shack, another legendary blues formation.

The group has a number of excellent musicians on board: with Niko Christiansen, blues icon of the Dutch scene on vocals and sax, Loek van der Knaap on guitar,Jeroen Van Niele on bass, Kees van Krugten on drums and Francois Spannenburg on blues harp, the band is able to play a variety of styles, from  traditional blues, via jazz and funky blues to blues rock. Their stage act is energetic and has the necessary visual effects to keep the audience excited from start  till the end of their show. They just released their brand new cd called “This is the time”.
